A unique opportunity now exists for a motivated individual to join the dynamic team at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre after its successful role as a competition venue for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Applications is sought from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

CASUAL ARENA ATTENDANTS

The Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre is expanding, resulting in the multi-purpose facility increasing business for various sporting bodies, general athletes and commercial hirers. Due to the growth we are seeking to recruit Casual Arena Attendants to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Athletic Supervisor, the role will have specific responsibilities, which include the following;

• Assisting the Permanent Arena Attendant with event set-up requirements for the Athletic Centre (inclusive of the Warm Up and Competition Arena).
• Meet, greet and supervise Athletic Centre venue hirers / users, providing a high level of customer service.
• Supervise general athletic training sessions.
• Assist in maintaining the security and integrity of the Athletic Centre as a multi-purpose facility.

We are looking for applicants who display the following criteria:

• Knowledge of Athletic track and field.
• Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
• Must work well within a team environment.
• Display exceptional initiative, pride in work and venue presentation.
• The ability to prioritise tasks.
• Good communication skills.

Special Conditions:

• Rostered shifts out of regular hours, weekend and public holiday work will be required as the venue can operate seven days per week.
• Cash handling and manual handling will be required as part of the role (training and instruction will be provided).
