The United Indian Association (UIA) encompasses a broader cross section of nine Indian organisations within NSW and the ACT. The UIA is the peak Indian representative body in Australia.

The UIA hosts an annual festival in Sydney. For the sixth consecutive year, the event will be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre, on Sunday 10 August 2008.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) is one of the major sponsors, along with Qantas, Western Union, Singapore Airlines, Australia Post, and National Australia Bank.

The India Australia Friendship Fair 2008 will be held in the Competition Arena, with a combined 100 food, arts & crafts stalls, children’s rides and traditional Indian music throughout the day.
