CENTRE FEATURES

The 5,000 seat grandstand is named in honour of "Golden Girl" Betty Cuthbert, Australia's four time Olympic Champion.

It is the first in Australia to use stayed-cable bridge design technology.

The 100 tonne roof is suspended by high tensile cables from two 40 metre masts.

Electronic scoreboard, 7m x 6m.

Grassed banks for up to 10,000 people.

International standard polyurethane and rubber composite track.

Connected to Telstra Stadium by walkway for athletes at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

All 40,000 cubic metres of earth excavated during construction has been re-used for grassed or landscaped embankments on site.

Major trees have been saved.
